Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This Rosé of Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain is lively with lush red berry fruit. Crisp yet semi-dry with an elegant structure that lives up to Red Mountain and its layered minerality.
Winemaker Notes
"This is a rose of Cabernet Sauvignon from Red Mountain, of all places. Now, most people, when they make a Rosé they make it from Syrah or they make it from a Rhone variety like Grenache or something similar. Cabernet Sauvignon is not usually what is used for Rosé, but it is my favorite variety by a country mile because it's so versatile. Cabernet can be big and bold and dense and rich and savory, as it is in our Coeur Cause Cab. Or it can be light and delicate and elegant, depending on when you pick it, how you grow it, and how you ferment it. And I love that versatility that the Cabernet shows so many different faces depending on how you treat it. It really does respond to technique unlike any other grape, which is why it's so popular, and why I love working with it."
